Due to its advantageous position in the heart of Alta Valtellina, our Holiday House allows our guests to get to roads leading to the so called "Legendary Passes" just in few minutes.
Let's start with the most popular and the most famous“Stelvio Pass” (elevation 2758 m), the “Cima Coppi” for excellence. You have to walk 22 km to reach the summit but once you get there, you understand that it was absolutely worth it. On the way up you can admire the spectacular park bearing the same name located in the breathtaking Valle of Braulio.
From Bormio you can get to Santa Caterina Valfurva located approximately 13 km away. Here begins a challenge to get to "Gavia Pass" (at an elevation 2618 m). It's quite a difficult way and only the last kilometres are of it are easier to walk. One can admire the monument to the fallen soldiers and some lakes created by glaciers.
The “Mortirolo pass” (elevation 1852 meters), is also one of the most difficult passes of the Alps. Famous for the Giro d'italia, this pass is particularly hard to deal with but as it has already been said, once you reach the top, you get extreme satisfaction. The biggest part of this track leads through a dense forest that gives a possibility to stay in shade on hot and stuffy days.
These are just three of the passes that have revolutionized the history of cycling in Alta Valtellina. We invite cycling lovers to try them out; use a racing bike, a mountain bike, a Fat Bike or other types of bikes to get a unique experience and have something to tell your friends about.
Just a few minutes from the historical centre, from the ski slopes and the spa.
